China Baby

I can't believe I have not updated my blog for so long...

Short form of the in between months.

Chris came home from Iraq, we prepared to move and get out of the military, I went to an ashram to become a yoga instructor, we traveled from Georgia to Virginia to New York to Canada (just Niagara Falls) to Chicago, Mt Rushmore, Utah, Idaho and Washington.

Then we found out that no one was hiring anywhere... So Chris got back in the army and moved to Missouri.

My dad and I followed shortly so I wouldn't have to drive alone. He and I went to Utah (I love my Utah friends), the Grand Canyon (amazing.......), a LOOOOOOOONG drive through the Navajo Nation Reservation, we saw some great sights (like real dinosaur tracks and Window Rock), it was a great trip.

Now we are in Missouri for a little while, Fort Leonard Wood, which is where I did my basic training. AND the biggest news of all...

We are adopting from China! We have done a lot of paperwork, and started our homestudy. We are about 2/3 of the way done with this stage of it. Now we have to identify a child, do some more paperwork and wait for travel approval. After years of waiting for the right time, it's finally NOW!

And I'm not done yet...

My mom and I are traveling to Zambia, Africa this summer with Mother's Without Borders. Africa has been on my heart for years now and I'm so thrilled to be able to finally do something. I also hope it's just the beginning for me. I want to really do something meaningful for Africa. I'm in contact with people who have done great things and I hope to brainstorm or be inspired with something I can do long term that doesn't cost $5000 a pop.

Any ideas? Inspire me!

Oh my goodness! How wonderful!!! All wonderful! Congratulations and Namaste, and everything else I can think of to say. Good for all of you. I am so jealous of your Mothers Without Borders trip as I am working totally stateside for at least the next 5 years.

I've never been abroad so this will be wonderful for me :) I have always wanted to be a world traveler and it looks like this is my year!
